Assistant Vice President - Legal (Investment Practice Group)

Key Responsibilities

1. Investment Legal

• Providing legal advice and support for investment related matters.
• Review, draft, analyse, and negotiate contracts, agreements and other related documents.
• Review Investment Policy and Guideline whenever required by the business units.
• Advise investment teams on permissibility of investment proposals under the Retirement Fund Act.
• Representing business units on legal matters or issues.
• Managing external legal counsel.
• Provide legal advice and input on any other legal matters or issues.

    2.  Corporate Legal

• Advise on any corporate legal matters as and when required by Management or business units.
• Draft, analyse, and negotiate contracts, agreements and all other types of legal documents arising from any corporate projects.
• Representing business units on legal matters or issues which are new or novel.
• Managing external legal counsel.

3. Policy and regulations

• Acts as the organisational authority and established expert on interpreting and applying knowledge of laws, regulations and policies in area of expertise. 

Key Requirements

1.  Recognised Degree in Law
2. Minimum eight (8) years working experience with two (2) years supervisory experience in private practice or in-house counsel with knowledge and experience in corporate, banking, finance, investment or other related fields.
3. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging with stakeholders at various levels.
