Associate - Corporate Advisory Practice Group

Key Responsibilities
- To assist the Assistant Vice President (AVP) and/or Vice President (VP) in providing legal advice and support on corporate legal matters arising from business operations, strategic initiatives, and enterprise projects.
- To assist in drafting, reviewing, analysing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation and correspondence relating to corporate projects, strategic initiatives, and business operations.
- To conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, approval and notification papers, and presentations on corporate legal matters.
- To identify, assess, and highlight legal risks associated with contractual arrangements and proposed business activities, and recommend practical risk mitigation measures.
- To monitor legal obligations, contractual commitments, and compliance requirements arising from agreements, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
- To coordinate with and support the management of external legal counsel, including issuing instructions, reviewing legal advice, monitoring budgets, and ensuring timely delivery of legal services.
- To assist the AVP and/or VP in providing legal support and advisory services on operational, governance, and business-related matters across the organisation.
- To review, draft, negotiate, and advise on commercial, procurement, technology, service, consultancy, subscription, employment, and other operational agreements.
- To support the review of and provide legal input on standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidelines, policies, frameworks, and other governance and corporate documents as requested by internal stakeholders.
- To assist in advising on matters relating to approval authorities, execution, stamping requirements, information disclosure obligations, and other related governance frameworks.
- To support advisory work relating to audit, integrity, risk management, compliance, and corporate governance matters.
- To liaise with internal and external stakeholders on legal matters and represent business units on legal issues where required.
- To conduct legal and regulatory research on emerging legal issues and provide recommendations to management.
- To assist the preparation of legal alerts, legal awareness materials, training content, and knowledge-sharing sessions for internal stakeholders.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
- Admission to the Malaysian Bar will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in corporate and commercial law, corporate legal advisory, or a combination thereof.
- Experience supporting enterprise projects, digital transformation initiatives, or strategic corporate programmes will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with procurement and tender documentation, as well as information technology, digital, technology, and data-related contracts. Exposure to data protection and privacy laws will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment as well as good team player.
