Associate - Responsible Investment

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Support the development and implementation of Responsible Investment (RI) strategies through research, benchmarking, and preparation of analytical materials and recommendations.
  2. Conduct Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) due diligence and reputational risk assessments for new and existing investments, including identifying key sustainability risks, governance concerns, and potential red flags. 
  3. Monitor ESG performance, incidents, and controversies across portfolio companies, and provide structured analysis and reporting to support internal oversight and decision-making.
  4. Contribute to stewardship and engagement activities with investee companies and external managers to drive ESG improvements and align with sustainability expectations.
  5. Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of ESG-related policies, frameworks, and governance documentations.
  6. Support climate-related initiatives, including portfolio decarbonisation efforts, emissions tracking, and alignment with net zero objectives.
  7. Conduct research and market intelligence on ESG trends, regulatory developments, and emerging thematic areas to inform strategy and investment considerations.
  8. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across investment teams and functions to support consistent ESG integration and execution of sustainability initiatives. 

 

Key Requirements

 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or related disciplines.  
  2. Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, investment analysis, or related fields.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of ESG principles, responsible investment practices, and their application within financial markets.
  4. Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information into actionable insights.
  5. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to support preparation of reports, presentations, and discussion materials for senior stakeholders.
  6. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across teams.
